Nellikkuzhi Secular Pilgrimage started in 2015 from the sanctum sanctorum of Palani- Temple, Tamilnadu to Nellikkuzhikkavu Bhagavathi Temple, Kothamangalam , Kerala, is the only pilgrimage which conscientize people against the five fold social problems of terrorism, corruption, communalism,atrocity and addiction to alcohol and drugs which the world at large is facing.

The Pilgrimage propagates the great messages, teachings and philosophies of national and spiritual leaders and social reformers like Gandhiji, Jagadguru Adisankaracharya, Swami Vivekananda,Viswaguru Sree Narayana Gurudev, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Chattambi Swamigal, Ayyankali, Agamananda Swamigal by highlighting 'Pancha Sudhyi' , ie ; Five Fold Purity- purity of mind, body,word,deeds and food. Secular Procession, Lighting of Secular Lamp, Ojective Based Seminars, Objective Based Award Samarpanam, Mega Pilgrimage Meeting, Secular Congregation of Religions etc .are some of the components of the Pilgrimage. Prof PV. Peethambaran,State President of SRVCS, mooted the idea of Pilgrimage and it is implemented collectively by the State, Union and Branch Committees of SRVCS.

Nellikkuzhikkavu Temple


Nellikkuzhi is the seat of the well known temple called Nellikkuzhikkavu Bhagavathy Temple, managed by the Devaswom Committee of S.R.V.C.S., Kothamangalam Union. The temple is situated on the right side of the Aluva - Munnar (A.M. Road) Road next to Erumalappady. The Head Quarters of S.R.V.C.S. State committee and the seat of S.R.V.C.S. Kothamangalam Union Committee are situated in Nellikkuzhi.

Since, it is the spiritual head quarters of Chavalar Community, hundreds of people flock to this village, which is similar to SIVAGIRI of Varkala in Southern part of Kerala - Nellikkuzhi Temple and its nearby places are highly suitable for prayers because of the positive energy released by the calm and serene atmosphere of the temple. Nellikkuzhi is considered as the Sivagiri of S.R.V.C.S. and in due course, because of its salient features, it will be better known as aPilgrimage Centre.

Sree Rama Vilasam Chavalar Society (S.R.V.C.S)


Nellikkuzhi Temple is famous for its secular nature and people of all religions associate with this temple.
S.R.V.C.S. right from its inception in 1948, is known as a secular organization formed for fighting the rights of the downtrodden. Because of its socialist approach, the Society upholds the unity and integrity of our country. The society has completed 73 years of its service to the nation and during the 67 th year, the Society commenced a Pilgrimage with a broader and socialistic approach.

Minister G Sudhakaran received the Second KM Kuttan Award. Prof Chinnamma Raveendran and Advo. Charley Paul reeived the first Prof MP Manmadhan Award
Pilgrimage - 2018 Inaugurated by Poojaneeya Swamy Sachidanantha. Hon. Speaker Sri P Sree Ramakrishnan inaugurated the Sarvamatha Sammelanam. Hon.Finance Minister Dr Thomas Issac received the third KM Kuttan Award.
Dr.MN Venkiteswaran received the Second Prof MP Manmadhan Award
